Corrugated board is light in weight and rigid. It comprises of at least one layer of fluted paper and a base layer or liner paper. The corrugated board used for preservation purposes predominantly has at least three layers.
A combination of two paper layers called liners are glued to wave-shaped fluted paper, deformed through heat and pressure. The wave structure (flute) of the middle layer sustains the considerable rigidity and resistance of the corrugated board.
